Sound Devices - Marketing Manager

Role: Marketing Manager

Location: Chessington, Surrey, UK

Reporting to: CEO and WW Sales Director

 

This role will be responsible for the planning, management and execution of all marketing and communication strategies relating to RF and portable recording solutions, directly to customers and via global partner channels. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in live sound and/or related technology markets.

 

Sound Devices designs and manufactures professional audio recording equipment and ground-breaking RF solutions that help sound professionals in location and live sound capture and deliver the most pristine audio in the world.

Our products have been used in high-profile films and beloved episodic television series including Star Wars and Bridgerton. Our customers range from highly technical professionals making their livelihood with Sound Devices equipment to semi-pro users who seek the best-in-class products. Our latest range of RF solutions is gaining significant interest within global touring, house of worship and live events.

We design, assemble, and support our products at our USA headquarters in Reedsburg and Wisconsin, plus at our offices at Watford and Chessington in England. This position is office-based at our Audiotonix HQ in Chessington, Surrey, UK.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the global marketing function as part of the senior management team.
  • Develop the short and long-term marketing strategy for all products and communications. This will require managing ongoing location sound campaigns whilst focusing on building visibility and thought-leadership programs in live sound and related verticals.
  • Manage and co-ordinate a team of marketers that will be split between the Wisconsin and UK offices, specialising in social media, digital content marketing, media creation, events services, and web content. This will also include sharing specialist marketing services between other Audiotonix live sound brands.
  • Develop integrated programs with the sales and commercial teams, including distributors, dealers and installers.
  • Set KPIs for all marketing programs, analyze all campaigns for efficacy based on agreed goals and develop as needed in conjunction with the WW Sales Director and CEO.
  • Write persuasive copy and technical descriptions for products with an understanding of customer groups and market segments.
  • Lead creative approach to content and branding.
  • Create and manage budget according to company goals.
  • Ensure marketing complies with worldwide privacy and data legislation.
  • Manage agencies (press and website development) along with freelancers as required.

 

Experience:

  • 10+ years senior marketing experience for global technology brands including live sound and/or media technology.
  • 5+ years managing and evolving marketing teams across multiple sites.
  • Execution of brand building and development in multiple markets and to a global audience.
  • Demonstrable management and development of creative marketing teams.
  • Detailed budget management.
  • Management of press, agency and channel relations.
  • Strong knowledge and application of digital marketing and advertising techniques.

Audiotonix - Marketing Operations Manager

Based:                               Chessington, UK

Reporting to:                   Group Marketing Director

Reporting to the Group Marketing Director, the Marketing Operations Manager will oversee and expand Audiotonix corporate programs across the group.  You will evolve and work with each of the brand marketing teams to benchmark marketing processes across the Audiotonix portfolio to ensure all activities are in sync with our business strategy.  A key part of your role will be to align and develop marketing technology (MarTech) stacks, data analysis and compliance rules.

Overall, your aim is to inspire and collaborate with all marketing teams to improve our corporate profile, optimize MarTech capabilities and champion technology efficiencies across all areas of marketing operations. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Operations Management

  • Working with all brands to assess and implement MarTech stack solutions and marketing tools to optimise workflows, processes, and costs, whilst retaining the DNA of each brand and their unique identity.
  • Deliver ongoing education and enablement of teams across evolving marketing ‘best practices’ and include tools such as marketing automation platforms, CMS, SEO, CRM systems, and appropriate AI tools for content creation and deployment.
  • Benchmark key platforms and processes including websites to ensure ongoing best implementation and management.

Audiotonix Corporate Programs

Develop and implement content programs across web, socials, non-industry press and ‘above the line’ opportunities to highlight Audiotonix projects to a wider public and investor audience including:

  • To work alongside the ESG team to promote our ESG, responsibility, community & education projects (STEAM).
  • Industry related projects, associations and customers, including charitable and technological.
  • Acquisitions & key technology developments.

Data Management & Compliance

  • Lead programs to ensure all brand marketing databases and programs using customer information are compliant, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and leveraging data insights to drive future decision-making. 
  • Implement audit processes including risk assessments of marketing programs and 3rd party services and providers.

Additional Marketing Resource

  • Provide ongoing support and resources to current brand marketing teams on a project basis.

 

Experience:

  • Degree in marketing or related field, MBA a bonus.
  • Domain experience within an audio or video technology business or organisation.
  • 5-8 years marketing experience working across multiple brands and stakeholders.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience.

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills: Ability to analyse marketing data, identify trends, and draw actionable insights.
  • CRM and marketing automation platforms knowledge.
  • Project management skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. 
  • Communication & collaboration skills: Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, both written and verbal. Need to be a ‘people’ person.
  • Technical aptitude: Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.

  • Must be able to travel in UK with occasional international travel.
Audiotonix - Sustainability Specialist

The Sustainability Specialist is a standalone role and responsible for driving and implementing sustainable practices throughout our operations. You will deliver and implement the sustainability strategy for all areas of the business. The role is to make a tangible impact on reducing our impact on the planet and positively contribute to the communities we interact with. Ideally the would be based at Audiotonix HQ in Chessington, Surrey.

Key duties

  • Serve as a recognised authority and passionate advocate for sustainability across Audiotonix companies.
  • Encourage and inspire positive change.
  • Work with Senior Leadership to review, continually develop, and implement a comprehensive ESG Strategy with attainable goals alongside industry best practices and corporate objectives.
  • Be able to balance sustainability with the commercial needs of the business.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce environmental impact, including but not limited to carbon emissions, waste management, and energy efficiency.
  • Develop sustainable sourcing and procurement practices, ensuring compliance with ethical and environmental standards across our supplier base.
  • Align our ESG strategy with the UN 17 Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Collaborate with product design and development teams to promote sustainable product innovation, identifying opportunities for material selection, product lifecycle analysis.
  • Conduct regular sustainability forums and assessments with business leads to monitor and track progress towards sustainability goals, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Be the champion for sustainability across our business.
  • Develop and implement training and educational materials that foster a strong sustainability culture among employees.
  • With the ESG Leadership team set sustainability strategy, goals and KPIs.
  • Research and recommend the most appropriate reporting framework for our business, such as Science Based Targets.
  • Take ownership of gathering data on Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

  • Take ownership of Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) reporting.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations and certifications related to sustainability, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for obtaining eco-labels and accreditations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external sources to stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in sustainability.

EXPERIENCE

Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, practices, and frameworks such as energy reduction, life cycle assessment, and sustainable sourcing.

Demonstrated understanding of environmental regulations and standards relevant to the electronics industry.

Experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies, including goals and targets.

Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks.
